Devolved Elections 2021 #VoteForTheOcean
On 6th May 2021 there will be a load of elections going on across the UK. But crucially there will be elections to the devolved assemblies in Wales and Scotland.
If you live in Wales or Scotland these elections are really important because the devolved administrations are responsible for making decisions on areas like waste, fishing and agriculture as well as the environment in general. The Welsh and Scottish governments therefore have the power to help stop plastic pollution, #EndSewagePollution, recover the ocean and tackle climate change. To help you make an informed choice on who to vote for we took an initial look at where the main parties in Wales and Scotland stand on the ocean. We looked for policies that line up with our campaign ambitions:
- End plastic pollution on UK beaches by 2030
- Net Zero Carbon by 2030
- End Sewage Pollution into UK Bathing Waters by 2030
- 30% of the ocean & all UK Marine Protected Areas highly protected by 2030
Senedd Cyrmu Elections (Wales):
In Wales you have two votes to elect Members of Senedd Cyrmu (MS), one to elect a constituency MS and one to vote for a party to represent your region. Find out more about how the election works here.

Scottish Parliament Elections:
