What’s going on?

Whether you already have your own place or you’d like to apply for a charity place, join Team Surfers Against Sewage in the TCS London Marathon 2026 and play your part in protecting our oceans and fighting plastic pollution. 🌊🏃‍♂️

What can you expect from us?

  • Join a team: Meet like minded runners who are making a impact on the health of our waterways. You’ll receive a high quality sustainable running vest.
  • Route-side cheering and post-event reception: Get ready for an adrenaline-fueled boost as you pass our cheer point, and once you’ve crossed the finish line, come and celebrate at our post-event reception.

FAQ's

There is no minimum fundraising amount for SAS ballot place runners – we’re extremely grateful for whatever money you can raise.

Once you’ve registered your ballot place or been allocated a charity place, we’ll support you through your London Marathon journey. Before the big day, you’ll get training, fundraising and media tips by email and a fundraising T-shirt. On the big day, you’ll be boosted by our cheering stations and invited to attend our Race Day Hub, where you can enjoy refreshments.

A race day guide of what to expect on the big day will be sent to you ahead of the race.

Your incredible efforts raising money could help support a number of our incredible programmes:

  • Our free-to-use Safer Seas & Rivers Service app which now covers over 400 locations, meaning that more water users than ever have access to real-time sewage alerts. Plus, it to expose water companies’ seedy activities.
  • Our brand new Data HQ, a combination of sewage, sickness, citizen science and recreational data to empower people all over the country.
  • Protecting Wild Waters. Through our Protecting Wild Waters campaign we are campaigning for more rivers, lakes and lochs to become designated as bathing waters.
  • Our annual Water Quality Report – exposing the shocking habits of UK water companies, including 143 potentially illegal spills.
  • Our Million Mile Clean, which collects data for our Brand Audit through citizen science – exposing the dirty dozen brands polluting our blue planet and holding them to account.
