SAS Seas For Life Information Boards
Seas For Life, Not Just For Christmas
This Christmas we are proud to announce the installation of 10 innovative and engaging community information boards at some of the most beautiful and iconic harbours in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Working with the Cornish Fish Producers Organisation (CFPO) and the Fisheries Local Action Group (F.L.A.G) with the clear goal of promoting sustainable coastal communities. As part of SAS’s Seas For Life education programme, these information boards highlight the importance of caring for the marine environment and its vital links to economic activity in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, providing a connection between the public and fishermen.
SAS unveiled the first Seas For Life information board at Newlyn Harbour on Friday 6th of December and were joined by Newlyn Harbour Master Rob Parsons, FLAG Animateur Chris Ranford, Andy Wheeler of the CFPO, local fishermen, Dr Joanna Henley of Sciart solutions and most importantly, pupils from Newlyn Primary School who also took part in SAS’s interactive Seas For Life education session.
SAS also installed these fantastic Seas For Life information boards at Newquay, Portreath, St Ives, Newlyn, Mousehole, Porthleven, Coverack, St Mawes, Looe and St Mary’s (IoS) harbours. Make sure you go and see them over the Christmas holidays and learn how the Seas For Life sustainable message can help improve your coastal community. SAS would like to thank the Harbour Masters and communities for embracing the Seas For Life message.
We have also created a digital version of the Seas For Life information board, please feel free to download it to use in your coastal community!
