Design Size: The design will most likely be printed up to 30x40cm in portrait. File Format: Save your design as a PNG with a transparent background. Resolution: Use 200dpi for sharp, high-quality prints. Colour: Work in RGB mode, this gives the best results for printing. Detail: Keep all lines and text thicker than 2mm so nothing gets lost in print. Effects: Avoid transparencies, fades, neon, or metallics. Boost your contrast and saturation for colours to pop on fabric. Rights: Only upload work you fully own or have permission to use.

By entering the SAS 35th Anniversary Design Competition (the “Competition”), you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Eligibility

The Competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom.
Entrants must be 18 or older at the time of submission.

Submission Requirements

Entries must be original designs that have not been previously published or used for commercial merchandise.
Submissions must be made via the official SAS 35th Anniversary Design Competition web page form. Submissions made via any other channels will not be considered.

Each participant may submit only one entry.
Deadline
The submission deadline is 23:59 BST on May 21, 2025.
Entries received after this deadline will not be considered.

Intellectual Property & Usage Rights

By submitting a design, entrants agree to waive all publication and merchandising rights of the winning design to Surfers Against Sewage (SAS).

The winning entrant acknowledges that they will not receive royalties or further compensation for any merchandise sold featuring their design.

We want this to be a celebration of authentic creativity. As such, entries that are wholly or partially created using artificial intelligence (AI) tools (such as image generators like Midjourney, DALL·E, etc.) are not permitted. Any submission found to include AI-generated elements will be disqualified.

Selection Process

SAS will shortlist entries based on creativity, originality, and alignment with the organisation’s values.

Shortlisted designs will be subject to a public vote via SAS channels, including social media, email, and the website.
The design with the highest number of public votes will be declared the winner.

Winner’s Prize

The winning entrant will receive:
Free merchandise featuring the winning design
A partner gift bag.
TWO (2) tickets to the upcoming SAS Anniversary Ball

General Terms

SAS reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these terms and conditions.
SAS retains full discretion over the final selection process and reserves the right to make modifications to the competition as necessary.
By entering, participants agree to the use of their names and submitted designs for promotional purposes related to the Competition.
