Team SAS

James Hendy

Name: James Hendy

AKA: JJ

Age: 32

Local Break? St Agnes

Sponsors? Beach Beat Surfboards, Ripcurl (but only because I work for them!)

Greatest achievement in surfing? Surfing Teahupoo. Representing the country ..a long time ago.

How long have you been surfing? 22 years

What does surfing mean to you? Without sounding tooo cheesy – my whole life… everything from my work to my family revolves round surfing. Tends to piss my girlfriend off to the max at times, but she knows I wouldn’t be the same person without it.

Where around the world have you surfed? All over Europe , Canaries, Morocco , Sri Lanka , Indonesia , Australia , NZ, Tahiti .

Where are the most pristine waters you have surfed in? Tahiti –and West Australia .

Where are the most disgusting waters you have surfed in? Unfortunately my home break’s of St Agnes when it was bad before it had UV treatment, its better now until it rains then its just as bad if not worse than before.

Why is SAS needed? To continue to challenge the government and industry to pull there fingers out and keep our seas beaches and rivers pollution free.. I don’t want my kids using sanitary products to build their sand castles with!
