First School, first in line, for first SAS primary schools environmental resource

Clean water campaigners, Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) will be visiting the countries first (geographically speaking!) primary school today in Sennen, near Lands End in Cornwall.

Here we will launch our new ONLINE and FREE Key Stage 2 (KS2) school's resource that covers English, Science, Geography and Citizenship. The resource, designed with cool, animated characters is called Save Our Seas (SOS) will be live from Friday morning and can be used by all at www.sas.org.uk/education/sos

SOS is designed to help raise children's awareness of environmental issues through a series of planned activities, quizzes and games written by an experienced educationalist. They are accompanied by a comprehensive set of teacher's notes ensuring that everybody gets the most out of this free resource.

Whilst aimed at years 4, 5 and 6 (KS2), many of the activities could easily be adapted for year 3 or even year 7 children. Once again SAS has made learning cool. The emphasis is on entertainment and enjoyment, with broad humour running throughout the animated materials, children can't fail to learn from this.

Andy Cummins, SAS Campaign Officer says: "The Save Our Seas KS2 resource compliments a great education section at SAS. It's free for everyone, it's fun and we want everyone to use it! Prevention is better than a cure, and by educating the kids of today we are hoping they can prevent environmental problems of tomorrow".

After the success of Operation Beach Clean for KS3 we jumped at the chance of helping with Save Our Seas. Armed with SAS's information, today's young surfers will be tomorrow's beach guardians"!
